In the article “Hang It Up”, Jesse Scaccia as a public school teacher wants to persuade students not to use the cellphone in the classroom. Although, cellphone has provided many benefits, students use cellphone in the classroom which will distract themselves, other students and teachers. However, parents think cellphone is used to connect to their children in emergency. Jesse Scaccia has a question, “Do you know why your children really want to take cellphones to school?” Jesse Scaccia thinks “cellphones are status symbols”. Personally, I agree with Jesse Scaccia’s opinion that cellphones do not belong in the classroom.
A famous proverb in chinese says, “harmful to other also harmful to yourself”. This means when you use cellphone in the classroom, you distract yourself and also distract other students and teachers. People can not to do two things at the same time. Students can use cellphone outside of the classroom. In the class, students should focus on the lecturing the they will not fail the class. Hence, students should not use cellphone in the classroom.
According to the article “Students and their parents, who say they rely on cellphones for safety reasons, are outraged.” For me, I think cellphone ban in school is good for students to study. We do not need to argue that rule should struck down. If there are some safety problem in school, teachers will deal with it then notify parents. Students in school should believe teachers can teach them well. Parents should be taking care on other concerns not cellphone issue. Moreover, students should care more about his or her education not social life. Thus, cellphones do not belong in the classroom.
When students’ cellphones ring while the teacher is talking, everyone laughs. How do you feel about this situation? Students should care more about other people’s feelings. Don’t think playing video games in the classroom would make you look cool that just wasting your time. Another famous proverb in chinese says, “wasting time is just like killing yourself”. Students should treasure their time in the classroom. All in all, students should not use cellphones in the classroom.
